‘If the walls could tell their stories’ wants to discover the hidden stories in Margate. From whispers in the shelter, conversations in alleyways and histories that live in the old town.
After collecting these hidden stories, the artist will turn them into an installation ‘trail’ that can be found in secret places throughout the festival.
Text from the collected stories will turn into sculptures that will live in the places that inspired them. Look for large wooden cut-outs, scrolling video screens, and half hidden envelopes.
The stories will then be developed into new poetry and spoken word, and performed on Sept 23rd at the Performance Fort Hill shelter.
